CASRA believes that people with psychiatric disabilities are entitled to the same freedoms as all other Americans and that recovery and therapeutic relationships cannot thrive in an environment of coercion.


CASRA believes everyone, regardless of differences or disability, should have the:

  • Right to Self-Determination

  • Right to be free from the use of physical and chemical restraints

  • Right to decent and affordable housing

  • Right to reasonable accommodations in housing, education, and employment
